These relations and the rules of their reproduction are the defining features of globalization but dictated by the premises and parameters of imperialism itself embodied in the policies and actions pursued by the USA.
Contemporary globalization is deemed to have enabled the mankind come full circle in its earthly journey that had begun some three million years ago. It is almost passed for an inevitable homogenization of human societies and for universal beneficiation, at that. In fact, what is involved in" the process is the global flow of capital and goods and services entailing the opening up of all spatial, ecological and cultural boundaries of peoples and nations to the wishes and advantage of the wielders of global, power- economic and otherwise.
This development owes its origin to the rise of modern European capitalism and its culmination through multi-power colonial imperialism into the late uni-power US imperialism.
The USA was, indeed, uniquely endowed to inherit the mantles of its historical progenitors, the War-ravaged European imperial powers, at their disintegration. Apparently, bereft of any national heritage or cultural moorings of its own other than those of self-preservation and self-aggrandizement, the USA was inexorably capable enough to have and bear the single minded determination for sustained reproduction of capitalism by globalizing its relations of exploitation, dominance and subjugation.
These relations and the rules of their reproduction are the defining features of globalization but dictated by the premises and parameters of imperialism itself embodied in the policies and actions pursued by the USA. Lately, in the post-Soviet post-Cold War period, the USA is found to be out for reorganizing and recolonizing the world by all the economic and extra-economic means it has got at its command.
It has shifted its barrage of hostility against communism onto outright decapitation of recalcitrant regimes and renegade terrorists. This shift occurring in the post-Soviet era, coincides with the imperialist contrivance of a 'clash of civilization' and consecutive aggressions in the region that belongs to the 'civilization' in question and that alone holds over three-fifths of the proven reserve of the world's most vital resource oil.
Notwithstanding the globalist urges, dispensing "American justice' to 'Evils' by egregious combination of unmatched military muscle with aggressive ethnocentrism tinged in crusade, raises doubt about the ulterior design of the ongoing 'War on Terror’.Predicament of manifest and latent terrorism emanating from the said 'justice', calls for approaching the problematic, instead, in terms of the axis of evils in globalization, imperialism and militarism operating in the uneven and combined global theatres.
In the mid-nineteenth century, the philosophers of historical materialism viewed man's exchange with nature and it’s unfolding through industry as the "true anthropological nature" of man. They also viewed their "dehumanization" and "estrangement" in the process and envisaged their obviation through “seizure of the means of production by society" that would hasten the end of human "struggle for individual existence' i.e., the end of their "animal conditions of existence" altogether. At its highest stage, by globalizing terror.
Imperialism shows the highest stage of it’s “animal conditions" too, and also perhaps thereby its new turning point. The conjunctural imperative, therefore, is to expound the nexus of forces involved in the reproduction of the conjuncture itself at the global and local levels. This topics broadly outlines an attempt to acknowledge the task.
