Bone and Antler Tools and Weapons
One of the most distinctive inventions of the period around 35,000 years ago was a diverse bone/antler technology, composed of spear-points, awls, smoothing tools and a variety of other implements. This 12,000 year-old harpoon of reindeer antler was designed to both penetrate the animal's hide and to remain in place, causing increased bleeding.
